Who is impacted?
Millions of Palestinians are suffering under Israelβs occupation, apartheid policies, and ongoing genocide. U.S. taxpayer dollarsβ$3.8 billion every yearβare funding Israelβs war crimes: the bombing of civilians, destruction of homes, forced displacement, and ethnic cleansing. Hospitals, schools, and entire communities are being wiped out, with Palestinian children, women, and elderly bearing the brunt of these atrocities.
Meanwhile, Americans struggling with poverty, homelessness, student debt, and healthcare costs see their hard-earned tax dollars diverted to military aid for a foreign government engaged in crimes against humanity. The U.S. government is complicit in war crimes, violating both domestic and international law by continuing to fund Israelβs brutal regime.
What is at stake?
If Congress does not act, the United States will remain an active accomplice in genocide and apartheid, making government officials criminally liable under international law. Continuing to fund Israelβs crimes:
- Violates U.S. laws such as the Leahy Law (22 U.S.C. Β§ 2378d) and 18 U.S.C. Β§ 1091 (Genocide Statute), which prohibit financial and military support for human rights violators.
- Endangers the moral integrity of the United States, aligning our nation with war crimes and systemic oppression.
- Suppresses the constitutional rights of U.S. citizens, as anti-boycott (anti-BDS) laws penalize Americans for refusing to support Israeli apartheid.
